Friends of Berthoud Pass and the CAIC 7th Annual Backcountry Film Festival

Colorado splitters get out and show your support at the 7th Annual Backcountry Film Festival. Films include Solitaire by Sweetgrass ProductionsBreaking Trail by Powderwhores, and Chalk and Ski by Purple Orange. The dates are 1/26 in Denver, 1/29-30 in Winter Park. Proceeds help support local avalanche forecasting and education.

Friends of Berthoud Pass is a grassroots collective of backcountry enthusiasts committed to preserving the legacy of public recreation at Berthoud Pass through safety, access and education.

Founded in 2003 by ski patrollers and backcountry riders, we are a non-profit 501c(3) tax exempt organization managed by a volunteer executive board and supported by donations and a diverse and active member base. Membership is by donation with a suggested donation of $25 per year. Lifetime membership is granted to individuals who donate more than $500. Read more...

The Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization created to support the CAIC, while contributing to avalanche awareness and education throughout the State of Colorado.

As more and more people venture into the Colorado backcountry, it is imperative that we continue to support avalanche forecasting, education and awareness. We achieve this mission by obtaining donations and grants and by hosting fundraising events.
