Well there has been talk about the current hardware for hardboots lacking in areas ,being too high off the board,heavy......... the list goes on. Decided a few months ago to put the mad scientist skills to practice and finally got some time this weekend to start the project. As it sits right now the plates are weighing in at around 300 grams each.Front binding sits about 1/32 off the puck with toe lift, rear runs cant and heal lift that match my old set but sits about a 1/4 of an inch lower. Going to be bending .5 cm bails out of titanium as well as making the pin out of ti an hopefully give it a test run by next weekend.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!
If you think about it, rollerblade shells are HELLA flexy, have adjustable forward lean, and aren't all that different to AT ski shells. We could TOTALLY have a super shreddable split-specific hardboot.

Vapor: Looks like an excellent project, I look forward to following it. I'm curious about the hook system on that board. Could you post a close-up image of it when you get a chance? Is this something you designed or had made custom? It looks like it would afford far more torsional rigidity than standard hooks--which would be especially useful for longer boards with longer spans between connectors.
Thanks, Taylor

Well the big plans to finish them off and go test at rogers kinda fell through. Had to pull a few 17 hour shift this week but squeezed this out sat morning Finished most of the hard stuff on the rear binding but will take my time now As it sits it's a few grams over 500 so i'll shave a few here and there just to say it in the high 400s. Taylor,I did make custom pucks but kept the dimensions the same Voile as i was using their slider plate before. The hooks are machined out of 3/4 6061 t6 stock and both screwed and welded on in place. The new setup sits 1/2 inch lower and 100 grams lighter than my old plates so it will be interesting to see how it rides.
ps: taylor Yes the replacement for chinese hooks ive been running for about three boards now. Basicly it can be a bit of a pain when its icy but function wise it will stiffen the board tortionally substantially

hey Russ,
To say i have frankenboots would be an understatement.these are about three years old dynafit zzero lower shells mated with a delux upper shell with a copycat bts bomber suspension system for adustable foward flex.

Vapor What are the angled rectangular pieces on this front and rear for? (only if you want to reveal)
I'm doing a run of cant pucks soon. Gathering what angles people want, if your keen let me know. Are these going to be released for sale or only for personal use? I see you run Dynafit for skinning but would these be designed for skining too? Cheers
