Guys The bindings are not out yet. There will be another new crampon and a new touring bracket, they have the same concept as Spark and the toe touring piece is a different dimension. Looks like the Sth Hemi will get first dibs on the testing unless they get released fast!

I got last year's because they were $115 and they work just fine. Probably would have gone with the Sparks if the price was the same, but this year's Light Rails are supposed to be better so maybe they're more comparable.
The new bindings are available on the voile site. I myself prematurely purchased a pair of the previous light rail binders and haven't been pleased with their performance. I contacted them about new ladders and ratchets for a backcountry kit and they actually sent me 8 replacement ladders and two ratchets with screws for free which is really cool. I recently contacted them about upgrading my straps and they said only the individual parts wont be for sale for a bit. After my experience with them, I'm not sure I would have made the purchase. However, I have never used spark gear and wouldn't personally jump to say they were better without personal testing and a weight test. Great customer service over there though.

I chose the new lightrails over sparks because the lightrails offer more rearward lean. I've got -10 deg and could go further if needed. Super comfy for long-stride touring. The sparks only go to - 5 deg. Otherwise I found the two binding designs to be more similar than different in weight and function. We'll see how they hold up. So far so good.
