It could be under gear or just a general topic.
Every time I have a question about gear I have to wade through threads about men's boots, huge boards, and other comments that don't really answer my questions. Then I find a little nugget hidden about one ladies' favorite boots.
I see you guys using the main forum to find out what to get your lady for Christmas so she can get out there with you- what if there was just one place where alll the girls on here could say what works for them. You could go straight there to find that kind of thing out from a lady herself.
There is a forum for all the corners of the country, for each community there to discuss local conditions.. Why not for the female community of splitboarders?
Some things that might be discussed is a ladies forum---- Getting into the backcountry with a self preservation alarm that goes off way more often then your all male ski partners Finding partners to shred with Inspirational trip reports from other bada** ladies How to help your lady friend get into the backcountry without scaring her off or insulting her athletic abilities Women's events in the community Gear reviews And more...
What do you all think? How do we make something like this happen? Are there ladies out there besides me who would contribute/ benefit? I personally think this would make splitboard.com much more relevant to me, I bet there are more of us out there already using these forums and wishing some info could be a little more specific.

i agree, that is a great idea! it would be nice to have a spot to collect & exchange information targeted towards women. first off it would be good to evaluate the demand, because nothing sucks more than an empty/unused forum. i personally would for sure use this forum!

Why not just post a topic with a specific title? There's a pretty small number of men, let alone women, that use this forum in the first place! Good idea, but I bet it would see little to no traffic and you'd be better served just posting to the general forums with a specific thread title IMO.

What if it were a subforum under Gear? Gear related questions would definitely be the most poplular reason to use it, and it would be a catch all for boards, boots etc. If it went over well as a gear forum and it seemed like there was demand it could be moved to the general forums area and be a catch all for anything ladies wanted to talk about, like what to do if your boyfriend won't stop whining on the skinner about his feet hurting and his fingers being cold.

Allot of forums will have a girls only thread. In other words only the girls have access to it. Then they can chat about all their cold fingers and toes without being harassed. Pick one girl to moderate it, and let it be its own thing.

Give me a few days.
If this happens I'll try [again] to get my wife to finally make an account and share her stoke. She has a lot to offer- but I am of course biased. Here's a sampling of her work while we were in the RV:
