Maybe i'm just imagining things, but itsn't this a "Spark Magneto" too, but without the Burton channels and with normal inserts. Look closely at the (lack of) heellifts and the short pins at the front of the binder. So there is a version for normal Voile pattern as well.....

And the hooks? Are those Voile hooks, they look like they have a Spark logo on them. looks like all the hardware could be Spark on this one..

Those are spark hooks custom logo'd. Cool note about the board the designer was one of the engineers behind option snowboards BITD. Some really cool rocker tech with matching the side cut with the rocker to allow it to hold an edge. I have seen this board in action quite a bit in the early season.

Salomon has three splits:
147 Derby, something similar to the spliff for tight trees and Japan pow (Mid-wide/wide, shaped like the YES 420ish)
160 Rancho, looks something like a Hovercraft but not quite as directional.
166 Sick Stick
These guys also come with Salomon skins.

As well as that all there regular Sick Sticks have ABS down the middle so they can be split without needing to be sealed, something Capita also did with the Charlie Slasher.

Only 166 on the Sick Stick split? Wonder what the price point would be with the skins. Anybody got any more good pics of the split?

There is some cool innovation going on here too...

https://dpsskis.com/ski/spoon

I got my hands on one at the local shop yesterday. I really like the idea of a beveled shovel, (about 1cm on either side)
If anyone remembers the Morrow 137 spoon, its slightly similar. Also a small concave/bevel beneath the feet.

Think it would work on a pow board too. When you are in deep pow, going quick and lay in a deep turn with a wide nosed board you do get a bit of drag, this same theory applied to a board would allow a more rolling/surfy beginning to the turn without sacrificing speed. It would also reduce the small amount of 'flap' from a long nose at the start of a turn on firmer snow.
Now , who wants to modify a press?

So nothing new on the boot front as far as soft snowboard boots designed to hike in? How about the Xavier de Le Rue splits?

Yea Jamie. I agree. A little bit of a convex base on pow splits nose and tails would just make them more surfy, and, use the tapered tips and tails that DPS uses as well (furberg uses this same shape adapted to their snowboards, but not the convex part). My first snowboard, a Sims 1500 SE, had a convex base! As long one kept a flatter section under the feet, edge control for the rare hard snow spot will still be adequate. BTW, the tapered tips and tails of the furberg do a lot to alleviate the drag you refer to.

That's a beautiful ski. I was just checking it out too. Light. DPS should make splits. That ski, doubled in width and split (making it 190 x ~31.5/~28.5/~30) is pretty close to the board I wish someone would make.
