Is the eastside splitfest a no go this year or has it moved to Shasta?

Sorry for lagging. Yes, due to 1) a lame snowpack, and 2) more importantly, unforseen circumstances beyond my control that made organizing this fall off the radar, this ain't happening this year. Sorry.

Next year for sure! We do have some good location options and just need to get things organized, which will happen next time. Swanny was good on his end, it was just me that was lagging.

That said, hopefully the usual suspects will show up when the road opens. I was toying with getting out there next weekend, same time as the fishing opener and of course most importantly the MO-MART OPENER! :) But if the road is in fact open this weekend, somebody needs to get out there and post some pics.

I'm also interested in snowpack. I've heard it is horrible, but...any who goes please keep us updated. I've got a new rig, and wouldnt mind testing it out.

Approaches at exits at Tioga Pass are pretty bare, but the runs themselves are holding snow.
Summiting Mt. Dana Saturday required transitioning from skins to boots to crampons and back several times.
So did the exits.
Best bets so far look like Ellery Bowl, maybe False White.
Lassen/Shasta sounds like the better deal at the moment.

Planning on heading out to the eastside this weekend. Things look decent from pics I've seen:

As far as Lassen, well they just opened the road to the devastated area the weekend before last I think, so conditions should be good over there. You'll probably have a bit of walking from the lot but I'd guess not too much.
