Hey Shredders!

Would you, or anyone you know, be interested in participating in a study about what it is like to snowboard in the backcountry? I'm inviting professional and amateur backcountry snowboarders to be involved in a study I am conducting for my M.A. thesis in Sociology at the University of Calgary.

If you're interested in chatting with me, please e-mail me at mplottel@ucalgary.ca; only people who reply by e-mail can be accepted as participants. Interviews usually take an hour, are confidential, and are conducted over Skype.

Thanks, I appreciate you passing my info around! I'm stoked people are interested in the project.

About myself, I've ridden for over 10 years in-bounds and slackcountry, and just recently picked up backcountry touring, hence my interest for the project. I can charge almost anything from the park to steep and deep, but I definitely want to learn more about the backcountry, and get in better shape for it! I've done my AST-1 and been out about 10 times this year. Just recently picked up a 2011/12 Jones Solution split, and I love it.

If anyone has any questions about the project, feel free to ask!

I'll cut to the chase for you----You're research will revile that we're all socially inept, chemically dependent in one form or another, and stink. Other than that we're mostly well adjusted.

Yep. Pretty much sums it up. We can also fit 8 people in small camper for partying should the need arise.

You can do this for a master's degree? Holy shit, did I ever pick the wrong field.
