@ehcharley - boards and binding and sliderpucks must have contakt points and gaps. your picture shows the back of the volie l&r. the gap is for the board flex, and noting cut the deck - and stop the flex hard ( the corner can be rounded ) the same storry is the gasket under the sliderpucks. look at the fuse - all corner s are rounded - the contact points to the board is bigger - your stand felling is stronger and your energie is faster on the board, not the boardflex ....a board live from the flex .

Hey there.. kinda neat to see someone who had both the fuse and the Voile system.
BCrider.. what were your thoughts about the fuse? Lots of positive about the Light rail from someone who owns both setups.
BCrider.. what were your thoughts on the Fuse. Did you throw together a write up on them?

One could connect the two independent binding cords with a single pull between the feet. I first saw protos set like that years ago...

Just ordered a set of Voile Light Rail bindings, so it'll be my first time on anything like it as I never rode the Spark bindings. Looking forward to it.
Will probably lose the avy cords here in New England, but for Gulmarg or Chile I say why not, I'll give it a go.

The problem I see with these light rails is right here:



There is still a huge gap between binding and board. The fuse eliminates that gap. It might be that they just put more material there, but with the fuse, if you flex the board at all, which you will if you are riding it, you will have contact which is going to increase your response time from your board. While I am pleased with the further innovation in the sport, it just seems like the Spark R & D design still wins.

Looks like it. Glad I went for the the Fuse's two weeks ago instead of holding out for the Light Rails.

Did Voile pushback the release date? The site is reading March 5 availability.

Has anyone tried the Voile dual height risers with the Spark crampons? From the pictures it looks like they should go together just fine. Anyone have this setup?

Is it just me or does one of the gold sliders on the fancier model face the wrong way?

Perhaps, if Voile didn't already hold the patent on the over arching technology this might be an issue....
Sparks are based around the Voile puck design, so if Voile also makes something based on their own pucks it's only an infringement if Voile gets all schizophrenic and attempts to litigate against itself.
