great times riding with ya BCD! amazing pics as always. the shot of willie is really inspiring.
sorry for the delays been super busy - anyway i thought i would tack on a a few pics and words.
it is funny how we went from virtually no real snowpack to an epic all time snowpack in the period of about 1 week.
christmas eve day was about getting out and checking out the conditions, and most importantly having fun! it was a really good day and my 1st time on this part of table mtn.
looking across the canyon - if i had this peak in my backyard it would drive me nutso!
the unnamed peak referred to by locals as bishop bowls - looking pretty amazing this day. it is a great descent, super fun, a few thousand vertical and usually in good condition, also has easy high ele access. however there are so many other peaks nearby that overshadow this one.
next up christmas day in north lake area - didnt get too many shots but fun time.
there was a pretty good wind event this day and i went back for seconds up jawbone canyon but ended up remote triggering a small windslab slide. that was a 1st for me and i just turned around and got out after that. went down south to see how things were looking.
spook is in already. i love this peak.
owens valley shots - looking north to white mtn at sunset
and then looking south - it is always so awe inspiring to be in the valley drooling over the peaks!
went down to lone pine on sunday - ended up solo at another favorite zone - LPPS! (Lone Pine Powder Stash)
cant believe it is already good and not even jan yet. i think most years this line doesnt even fill in so i feel very lucky to have ridden it so early in the season and know that it will only get better! i dug a pit and found almost 9ft of snowpack here at 9100ft.
this was my 1st big climb of the year, about 5k or more and kicked my ass having to break trail the whole way - wha wha crybaby soup . 8+ hr hike 11 min ride down, worth every bit of it! this view goes over 50 plus miles to the north and some of those shadows cast in the valley are from two massive 14k ft peaks.
have a safe and happy holiday season, and best wishes to all in the new year!
