The Sliver GTNP 3 9 13

Since I look at these TR's often, I figured that I would post a quick one. That and the fact that I actually brought a camera for this trip.....I usually don't take pics :doobie:

My partner and I rallied up this line, and it took us just under 5.5 hours from car to car....we were in a hurry for a warming trend was going to hit in the afternoon, and the snowpack this time of year is sketchy IMO. Enjoy.

That's such a fun line! I may have seen you guys in the parking lot that morning. I spotted some folks in front of us on the Bradley/Tagart moraine but never saw them again, so I assumed they (you?) went up Shadow Peak and possibly on to the Sliver. We rode a south-facing couloir in Garnet that day and were the only ones in the canyon!

We were the only ones in the P lot at 7:00am or so, and when we left nobody was around....it was perfect! About halfway up bootpacking the Sliver a group of two were dropping the entrance Col towards the sliver, and ended up skiing something a bit NW of us. Was glad they decided not to try and poach our bootpack cause we were in a rush to get out before it became to warm. Didn't want to have to wait for anyone to get to the top before we dropped in.
