There is no "perfect" boot/binding set up for splitboards. So far what I have found to work best is a Modified Koflach with a Zipfit Liner and a Booster Strap. Its not cheap, but it has a similar flex as a stff "soft" boot but offers a rigid sole for booting up steep couiloirs with or without crampons.
That's a sweet mod. I was thinking about doing that to a pair of PMBs this year. What kind of uppers are those. Are those uppers separate or part of the liners? Looks like that are a couple of rivets on each side holding the uppers to the PMB. Also, I was wondering what kind of bindings you were using with the boots.

The uppers are from several different ski boots and are part of the shell. Currently I use them with Burton Mission strap bindings, but am going to change to a binding with a metal plate because I break the plastic at least once each season.
