Has anyone tried to mount these to voile plates? they are not step ins per se but strap bindings. The question i have has to do with the compatability of the baseplates ribbed look(VX they call it) and the mounting surface of the voile plates. any splitboarders out there seen these in a shop or actually using them?

the specific issue i have is with the baseplate/voile interaction. Notice the v shaped flange on the underside of the baseplate. this is specific to this BM binding "<img src=http://shop.surftheearthsnowboards.com/prodimg/ben051.jpg>"

I am new to spliting and am using BM bindings from 2006. I also do not see an issue. I used them on my first outing and they worked fine. Don't have many miles or decents on them but they seem to be ok. There was no problem mounting them to the voile plates.

After removing the dampening rubber pad on the base of the binding (it's superfluous with the plates) my B.M. step-ins rule on my split. Responsive as all get-out, light and comfy. The cube forward lean feature is ideal for the quick change from tour to ride mode.
Plus, those Mervin guys are cool.

thanks LBR. i've always thought the Bent Metal stuff looked bomber. i just wasn't sure about this specific binding because i haven't had the chance to get my hands on a pair
