Intro: Fresh snow fell in Tahoe which has been a rarity this season so it was no surprise that folks wanted to get after it. The posse was assembled and fun was had.

Tahoe, note the avy path runout too. Normally all the bushes are covered...not this year.

Northbowl, looking much more sharky at the top than normal.

Windy on the summit.
Splitboard takeover! Ten people on the summit, all splitboarders.

Looking toward Halls.
Lake Tahoe.
dishwasher dave and crew rappeling into the direct entrance to the cross. I've ridden this line in good snow and was scared...today the snow at the top was crap so I can only imagine what they were feeling. It was wind scoured and firm for the mostpart. Not a place to fall. They handled it like pros and I imagine chose the line for mountaineering practice as opposed to good snow. It was a great experience to watch them. Props guys and gals!!
Bethany gets ready.
Our group did a lap in north bowl and then took the much easier right arm entrance to the cross.
Great pics! But no pictures of the great new sport of 'splitbooting?' Prolly too underground for now, but that'll change after I get splitbooting.com started up. Note to self... the NS Titan is not a powder board and it will not float on wet powder.
Rico - there were 3 splitter girls on Mt. Tallac yesterday, which must be some kind of record.
HfT - Even if the mountain didn't offer amazing line after amazing line, the views alone make the trip worth it.
Thanks everyone for a fun, beautiful day in the sun. Beats workin'!

Great day, though it would have been cool to have had more time to chill and talk to folks. It was nice to have all the good vibes from all the splitters surprised to see all the splitters.
The other group taking some sort of break...
The white cloud over the ridge is powder being blown to Sacramento, or at least over the ridge. The Sierra Avalanche Center has been talking about this wind transported snow the last couple of days. I have not seen it slide, but it definitely is depositing snow and creating cornices on the east side of ridges, which is a bit unusual for around here.
This is the guy that BC Rider couldn't remember (brian) and there are about seven splitters off in the background.
Steepy getting ready to rap into the cross.
That damn easterly wind, making things interesting and also scouring the crap out of the upper cross.
Bethany 'enjoys' a break in the wind.
Right below the first rap there was some significant ice, so we made a bollard and rapped once more.
Looking back up.
The only sorta action pic of the other group I managed (sorry PJ). This is the way a great powder run should end.
Anyone know the story behind this? It was on a tree lower down in the bowl.
It was great getting the chance to meet dishwasher-dave, steepy, bethany and brian and watching them rip down the heart of the cross coulior. So fun to watch great riding. I mostly have pictures of great skinning, but here it is:
Sparse coverage down low.
But the snow got better.
The Front Chutes with North Bowl up top.
Climbing.
This is a view over to the notch entrance of the Right Arm Coulior.
