Burton,
I agree, I have been looking at several of my white polymide cutting boards thinking they would work. I may use one just to experiment. Sure there would be some UV issues, but only after quite some time. I have also thought that the extra thickness of such a sheet source will allow me to cant the block a few degrees inward for each foot. This would be more comfortable in my hard boots.

Danka Burton, I understand your words and am far more impressed with your version of typed english than my version of typed german would be. Unless it is something like dunkel or heffeweisen then I'm about out. I have visited your glorious land of the german alps and loved it. Maybe in time I can return. I will try your canting trick and see if I can make a set for my alpine touring boots. Thanks again.

If it is UHMW you are looking for it can be found at any mill suply type of place. A couple of places in Washington would be Applied technologies or Kaman Bearing. In the sizes you need you should be able to buy their remnants. I you still cant find any for a resonable price I could mail you what you want for the price of shipping from Eugene. I have an unlimited supply of every color and thicknesses from 1/8" on up to 3". Burton was right about white not being UV resistant, you would be better off with another color. A router or router table will get you the profile you are looking for. Hope this helps.

You know... depending on the stance and angle you want you might be able to use the Voile universal pucks with the existing Burton insert holes. This gives you the advantage of some stance adjustability as well. You can buy the pucks alone from the Voile web store. Here are a couple relevant threads:
