I looking forward to mounting my Dynafit TLT Vertical bindings (toes pieces) to my 176 Prior Backcountry Snowboard. Has anyone mounted the heel pieces as well (mounting the complete binding)? if so do they work well on the spitlboard?

Or would just prefer to mount only the Dynafit toe pieces with a G3 heel/riser?

the distance between the slider puks are to short for the complet Dynafit Binders with climbingbar. better by the 2 step G3 ore a Voile orginal with 72 mm climbingbare wires .... the orginal voile climbingbare wire is to short - the wire goes direktly under the boot .... no slider high and bindings

Yeah I want to know that too. On some long traverses , which can really suck with a split board, the Dynafit bindings for a hard booter could be heaven ,and since I go both ways , WOW! what fun to ski down, then swap to the board again .... I want to know more... Someone tell me it works...

if ya use the g3 jus be aware theyre a bit fragile, make sure to unweight your heel when you unclip the toepiece or youll force the wire back and break the plastic.

Toe and Heel MOD complete...

First post, been a viewer for a long time.
Took a bit to time to get the parts lined up and payed for.




But here is my full Dynafit MOD on a 172 Prior Back country!! Garmont MegaRide boots with soft tung MOD.




The boots fit great and with the soft flex and loose top buckles makes for a decent ride. Have a metal strap/spring sewn into the tung for the second buckle, the webbing is overlapped in a shingle configuration for water drain and durability. Put about 2 inbound seasons on them before taking it to the backcountry.



Next was getting the nerve to dismantle the soft set up I had currently on the split. Direct mount clicker bindings are great for weight - ran them for a number of years and was ready for some lateral support. Riding my cateks at the local hill (Option Supercharger 172) for a couple of years along with the sweet cant options I was able to configure a 22 1/4" wide stance at 30Deg angles for both front and back. Which is enough to place both the toe and heel of the old "classic" Dynafit binding.



Ordered extra set of base plates and had them cut to fit the sides of the slider plates. I have size 12 shells so the distance above the board is nice to have and allows for the extra cant angles. It's a bit heavier than I thought it would be but I think I can cut some weight over time with some custom parts. On the flip side the weight of the up hill makes up for it. the other thing that is nice is having the heel piece, makes getting into the dynafit toe piece much easier.


This is a very recent project for me and have only got it out once and had a blast. I recently suffered an injury hope to post some observations of the finished ride. Soon.

what stand and shoe sizze you ride ????

Hey burton, I run a size 12-US or 29-EU(I think). my stance for the hard boots is between 22.25"-22.5" wide with 30-Deg front and back. I'm 6'5" so I generally ride boards over 170-cm.

ah - i see you mounted the touringbracked not in the same axe .... the left is in front of them right ....
this is for you ok , it works only for your angels ... when back feet 0 ° it dont works .

i thake this mountig version for a girl s with smal stands ( touringbraked not the same axe ) but the same problem when she ridden back feet 0 ° ore - °

your rotations point is so much in front of the orginal - it works better ore not so god ???
you ned a 3 pice touringboard - than you the fasted up hiller in the USA.......

Yes the offset is about an inch Left in front of right. The only way to get the full Dynafit setup on the board. Worked with a local shop to get it mounted. We tried to get the offset to be minimum as possible but the entire binding takes up 22"+. For the few times I have had this out so far, can't tell the difference . The mount of the toe piece being so much in front of the original really helps for steep kick-turns. Have not had a chance to actually ski on them yet will put a post out soon. Fractured my elbow and wrist last weekend, might be a little while before I can get back out.

If you where able to have a much more neutral stance say 10° Front and 0° back it would probably work as long as your stance is over 22" wide. but you need bindings that will offer some decent cant angles so you can get a comfortable stance.

Hear you on the 3-pice board... saw a proto once online.

Made a dual stash binding pocket for my pack to make the transition even quicker. Keeps bindings and some of my avi gear closer at hand.

I so have been wanting to do this. I think I can swing it easy with my size sub 9 size feet.

Practice is key for getting efficient with the Dynafit bindings. Did a quick tour in the Flathead pass area trying to access a sweet spot I found while flying around in Google Earth. Ended up being a couple of miles off from where I was wanting to be. Will try again. Tour mode is great, getting faster with the heel rotation. Had a brief 'skiing opp' pretty comical for sure

By flathead pass im assuming you are in bro'zman. just picked up a pair of F3's , next is the dynafit toe piece. was wondering if I could check your set up out in person. PM me.
